a) Who is behind Lahore blast?

Posted on Tuesday 09 March 2010 by webmaster

H.D.A. : It is certain that not all blasts in Pakistan are committed by Taliban. It is like al-Qaida blasts all over the world, where others commit blasts in the name of al-Qaida like Bhuto assassination. Pakistan security should find out who are the others

that target Pakistan? Firstly the American Muslims who come only to Pakistan. They might be all manipulated by US security to carry blasts on the account of Israel, enemy no. 1. Netanyahu demanded dismantle of Pakistan nuclear site, saying it is a great threat to Israel!!

b)     Pakistan's Taliban Claims Responsibility for Deadly Suicide Attack in Lahore

ISLAMABAD, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Analysts in Pakistan are divided over the role behind the massive suicide blast in Lahore on Monday, however, they agree that Taliban are too weak to launch such an attack on their own.

A building of Pakistani Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Lahore, the capital city of Punjab and the second biggest city in Pakistan, was targeted in a suicide car bomb blast Monday morning, killing at least 13 people including two security officials and injuring 89 others.

A Peshawar-based senior journalist told Xinhua that Taliban claimed responsibility for the blast when he contacted Azam Tariq, the spokesman of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

But analysts maintain that TTP has weakened to a large extent and has no ability to launch such a planned attack.

Former Secretary of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) Brigadier Mehmood Shah told Xinhua that the militants have been forced to divide into small segments in various areas of the country and they are on run now.

Shah, also an expert on Pakistani tribal areas and military affairs, said that Taliban accept responsibility for such attacks just to give an impression of their presence and strength.

He said that it has been witnessed the capture of a number of militants and their leaders from various Pakistani cities including Karachi, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, areas in Azad Kashmir.

He said that every small Taliban group has its own agenda but he does not believe that the attack in Lahore was carried out by TTP.

On the contrary, Imtiaz Gul, an expert on militancy, said that no doubt that TTP has weakened to a large extent, however, an organization never can be busted by killing or arresting a few of its leaders or members.

"Yes, the possibility of carrying out the Lahore attack by TTP is there and involvement of foreign hand cannot be ruled out," Gul said.

b)     Pakistan's Taliban Claims Responsibility for Deadly Suicide Attack in Lahore

A powerful suicide car bomb attack in eastern Pakistan has left at least 13 people dead and more than 70 wounded. Women and children are among the victims. Authorities blamed the attack on al-Qaida-linked Taliban militants.

Local police say the bomb blast took place during the morning rush hour in Pakistan's second largest city, Lahore. It targeted the office of an intelligence agency in the posh Model Town residential area where reportedly high-value suspected militants are brought for interrogation.

Ambulances rushed to the scene and transported those wounded to nearby hospitals. Jawed Akram, a senior doctor at the city's Jinnah Hospital, says a large number of people are critically wounded. He says the death toll could rise.

The doctor says people brought to his hospital have received multiple wounds, many with head injuries and broken limbs. He says that women are also among those killed or wounded.

An explosive expert, Allah Yar, told reporters on the scene the explosive device weighing at least 500-kilogram was mounted on a vehicle.

He says the powerful blast left a four meter wide and two meter deep crater in the road outside the office of the security agency, and caused major damages to the surrounding residential buildings.

Provincial and federal ministers blamed al-Qaida-linked militants for Monday's deadly blast, which broke what had been a relative lull in major violence in Pakistan.

Suicide bombings and other terrorist attacks have killed more than three-thousand people across the country since mid 2007.

A dramatic increase in violence in the beginning of last year provoked the government to order major military offensives against militant hideouts in northwestern parts of the country, which border Afghanistan.

The move had significantly brought down the violence so far this year and led to the capture or killing of high-profile commanders of both Pakistani and Afghan Taliban.
